About Ennis

Established in 2021 in loving memory of Ennis Townsend, this award grants students in the Morris NY Central School District a chance to develop and expand their creativity.

From the Family of Ennis Townsend

“The idea of establishing the Ennis Townsend Memorial Award began after the unexpected loss of our 9-year-old son, Ennis. The Award will be awarded each year to a student, or students, exhibiting an extraordinary level of creativity, imagination, and profound thinking.

It has been a very difficult time for our family, and the many people that knew, and were also affected by his loss. As we have said to them, he has departed but is not forgotten.

Although they may choose to use the award towards higher education, they would also be free to use the award to assist them for what they need right away to start on their next great creative journey.

Maybe it will go to a new painting easel, or musical instrument. Maybe it will buy video editing software or set up a recording studio. Maybe they will use the money to pay for pilot lessons or a new telescope.

As with their imagination, the sky’s the limit.
So, we thank you for doing your part in all of this, and please know you will be a big reason it will go from idea to reality.”
